On Friday I presented an all day workshop at Lehman College
called Using Aided Language Stimulation
to Promote Literacy, Language and AAC in the Classroom.
A big thank you to the
organizers, Leslie Grubler and Mary Boylan and the students of the
Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at Lehman College of the City
University of New York for hosting such a beautifully organized event!!!!!
About ¼ of this workshop was devoted to the interactive use
of Animated Step-by-Steps®. ASbySs are a series of over 120 educational digital
materials reflecting a broad range of classroom activities - recipes, crafts,
poems, songs, games and science experiments ... all presented in a consistent format. Each title is available from the Teachers Pay Teachers site in three
formats: Regular (no symbol
support), SymbolStix (n2y) and Picture Communication Symbols
(Tobii-Dynavox) . ASbyS are perfect for blended classrooms, serving both regular and
special education students and can be displayed on the interactive whiteboard, computer screen, large screen TV using Apple TV or iPad/Android tablet using the Microsoft PowerPoint app. To purchase the entire library at considerable savings please visit the Animated Step-by-Steps website (click on website link upper right).
